Galatasaray have made Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate their top summer target, with a significant package planned after his decision to leave Anfield, according to Turkish-Football.com.
The 27-year-old centre-back is central to reinforcing their defence for the 2026/27 campaign. He joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2021 for about €40 million and is regarded among the elite in his position.
They expect competition from Europe and the Gulf. The board are confident of luring the Frenchman with a leading role in Istanbul.
Konate’s market value is estimated at €50 million after consistent Premier League and Champions League performances. In 2025/26 he remained a steady presence for Liverpool during a period of transition.
The France international has 27 caps and blends physicality, pace and composure in possession. He is viewed as complementing a squad chasing domestic supremacy and a deeper European run.
The push forms part of a wider reset. Galatasaray have also been linked with Virgil van Dijk amid changes on Merseyside after several exits.
As the window nears, attention will turn to Istanbul to see if the hierarchy can land a landmark Süper Lig defensive signing.
