Galatasaray are weighing a move for German international Nadiem Amiri, although Okan Buruk is yet to be convinced.
Sky reports that Amiri plans to leave Mainz this summer despite being under contract until 2028, as he seeks a final major deal. He has been represented by Pini Zahavi since last summer, with Galatasaray and a switch to Saudi Arabia among the options.
Following last year's heavy spending, Galatasaray are preparing another transfer push. Amiri has supporters within the club, but Buruk would prefer alternative targets for the central attacking role.
Amiri joined Mainz from Leverkusen in January 2024 for a fee of one million euros. He has nine senior caps for Germany and was recalled by Julian Nagelsmann in 2025.
"The World Cup is the biggest thing for me, playing there for Germany. I'm 29 now and it will probably be my last chance," he told RTV/ntv. This season for Mainz he has 33 games, 2,678 minutes, 16 goals and 4 assists.
