Takvim reports that Galatasaray are set to intensify talks with Benfica for Franjo Ivanovic on a loan with an option to buy, while the Portuguese club favour a permanent sale.
The proposed structure is an initial loan that carries a 12 million euro purchase option, with a further 3 million tied to objectives. The report describes the coming days as critical for a resolution.
Benfica’s hierarchy, led by Rui Costa, prefer an outright transfer at a higher fee, reflecting last year’s outlay to sign the Croatia international from Union Saint-Gilloise for 22.8 million euros, potentially rising to 27.8 million.
Ivanovic is receptive to a move to the four-in-a-row champions in Türkiye, seeking regular minutes that appear unlikely if he stays at the Luz.
His prospects have shifted following the arrival of Jhon Durán, on loan from Al Nassr, adding competition up front. Vangelis Pavlidis remains Marco Silva’s first-choice striker, and Anísio Cabral is expected to stay as the third option. That situation leaves Ivanovic increasingly close to an exit in this summer window.
