City see off stubborn Southampton to book FA Cup final spot

The first 75 minutes of our eighth successive FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium were well-contested, with City forcing Southampton goalkeeper Daniel Peretz into some smart saves, however, the drama at Wembley intensified for the final 15 minutes.

Against the run of play, the Saints opened the scoring after 79 minutes through a wonderful curling strike from Finn Azaz.

Three minutes later, Jeremy Doku’s deflected effort found the bottom corner to get us back into the game and set up an intriguing final few minutes.

With three minutes of normal time left to play, midfielder Nico unleashed a thunderous effort from 25 yards which crashed into the top corner, completing a dramatic late comeback.

The win makes us the first side in history to progress into four successive FA Cup finals.
