Haaland and Foden help power City to a key victory at Crystal Palace

Haaland opened the scoring on 41 minutes as he rose the highest, before heading the ball back across the goalkeeper and down towards the bottom corner.

Phil Foden doubled our advantage in the second half thanks to Rayan Cherki’s driving run, with Foden sweeping a left-foot shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards out.

The hosts threatened in attack, but with attempts from Adam Wharton going wide, it looked as if City would go on to secure a clean sheet.

There was a late spell of Palace pressure deep into the second half as Ismaila Sarr had a shot blocked, before Will Hughes picked up the rebound and blasted an effort that hit one of his own players.

Eddie Nketiah was also involved in the late flurry of action as his shot was pushed away by Gianluigi Donnarumma.

We stood firm at the back, before substitute Savinho capitalised on a slip in the middle of the park and raced up the other end of the pitch.

The Brazilian was through on goal and was brought down by Dean Henderson in the box and awarded a penalty.

Of course, it was Haaland who stepped up and fired it past Henderson to make it three and seal the victory.
