Garnacho casts doubt on Man United future after ‘**** season’ | OneFootball

Alejandro Garnacho has cast doubt on his Manchester United future after being left out of the side for the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Garnacho was a second-half substitute during the 1-0 loss in Bilbao, as United missed the chance to secure silverware and Champions League qualification.

The defeat ended hopes of ending a torrid season on a positive note, with the Red Devils 16th in the Premier League table. Ruben Amorim’s side are set for their lowest league finish since last being relegated from the second tier in 1974.

United will also have no European football next season for just the second time in the Premier League era.

Garnacho admitted the season has been a massive disappointment for everyone at Old Trafford.

“It’s difficult for all of us. This season has been ****,” Garnacho said following the final defeat, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

“We lost the final, we didn’t beat anyone in Premier League. It’s very difficult.”

Garnacho was linked with an exit in January and hinted he could leave this summer. The Argentine looks a likely candidate for sale, given his high value, homegrown status and United’s need to sell before reinvesting. He suggested he will ‘see what happens’, having been frustrated with the decision to start him on the bench in the final.

“Until the final, I played every round helping the team. Then the final arrives and I play 20 minutes?! I don’t know.

“The final, the season, the whole situation of the club. I will try to enjoy the summer and then we will see what happens.”
