Gary Neville believes Manchester City have dealt Arsenal a "huge blow" with their Carabao Cup final win.
Mikel Arteta's side started the stronger of the two teams, with Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka both testing James Trafford in the opening stages, but soon fizzled out as City took control.
The decision by Arteta to stick with Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal backfired, with the second-choice shot-stopper at fault for the first of two Nico O'Reilly goals.
Kepa lets Raya Cherki's cross through his fingers to leave O'Reilly free to head into an open net from six yards, and the young City defender doubled his tally just five minutes later for an insurmountable lead.
The latest final loss means Arsenal's trophy drought extends, and ends their hopes of a historic quadruple as City's remain alive.
Arsenal are now left with two weeks to reflect on a huge disappointment, and speaking at full-time, Neville believes the psychological impact of the loss could have be lasting on the Gunners squad.
"City have dealt Arsenal a huge blow," Neville said on Sky Sports.
"Arsenal must now try to recover.
"Pep Guardiola will be so proud, his team have delivered.
"Mikel Arteta has got a big, big job now in these coming weeks."
