Gary O’Neil highlighted contrasts with former club Wolves during his first press conference as Ipswich Town’s new manager.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 43-year-old has signed a three-year deal after joining from French club Strasbourg, with Ipswich returning to the Premier League.
"I learned a lot from the Wolves spell. That's a club run very, very differently to this one. That's why I'm here and why I was so keen to take over here."
He took charge of Wolves in August 2023, led them to 14th in the Premier League and the FA Cup quarter-finals, then was sacked in December 2024 with the team 19th.
His final game was a 2-1 home defeat to Ipswich, a fourth straight league loss and their 11th in 16.
In his first season he oversaw wins over Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur. An FA Cup quarter-final loss to Coventry City denied a Wembley trip and marked a turning point. He worked under executive chairman Jeff Shi, who has since stepped down, with Nathan Shi taking over.
