Gian Piero Gasperini is open to replacing Claudio Ranieri at Roma, but is in no rush to decide on his future, while the Giallorossi have already prepared a three-year contract offer.
Gasperini publicly admitted on Monday that he was open to joining Roma in 2025-26.
“Just like Italy, who wouldn’t love to coach Roma? the Atalanta coach told Sky Italia.
“We are talking about an extraordinary place with extraordinary fans. I’m proud to be linked to the Giallorossi, but I prefer to focus on the short-term and Atalanta.

“We coaches live in the present and nine games are remaining. It’s a situation I’ve experienced for nine years, and it happens often when you spend a lot of time in the same environment. Until now, it’s been an extraordinary part of my life.”
On the one hand, Gasperini confirmed his interest in the Roma job, but on the other hand, he hinted that it was still too early to decide on his next destination.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Ranieri and Roma have already sounded out Gasp’s availability with the Friedkins ready to offer the 67-year-old a three-year contract.
At the same time, the report claims that Gasperini aims to coach an ambitious club that would give him time to leave his mark, just as he did at Atalanta.
Gasperini’s contract at the Gewiss Stadium expires in June 2026, but the Italian tactician recently admitted that he could leave earlier as he would not sign a contract extension with the club.
