Gasperini has decided to manage the strength of his starting players to avoid problems.
In the final push of this season, which could secure qualification for the Champions League for the first time in eight years, the Giallorossi coach has adopted a different resource management technique this week, focusing especially on those who have spent the most energy this season.
As reported by Il Messaggero, starting with Malen – who was partially rested two days ago – all the starting players completed a personalized gym session yesterday.
It’s not just Donny Malen, who was clearly fatigued after the match against Fiorentina.
Several players didn’t complete the entire training session under the coach’s orders, and the reason lies in their playing time.
Six outfield players have logged more than 2,300 minutes in Serie A: Wesley (2,300), Koné (2,363), Celik (2,469), Ndicka (2,554), Mancini (2,797), and Cristante (2,856).
All players are expected to return to training today for a late morning training session, before the coach’s press conference and the subsequent departure for Parma.
Therefore, Gasperini wants to leave no stone unturned, and he wants his key players to be in top form for the final three matches of the season.
Meanwhile, El Shaarawy and Gollini were sidelined yesterday. The former could be fit for the match at the Tardini at the last minute.
