Gasperini reviews Roma’s transfer business: “I wanted an attacker, but we’re all aligned with the club.” | OneFootball

Gian Piero Gasperini released some statements to Roma’s official channels following the closing of the transfer market.

“The final hours of the transfer window are always the most turbulent; all clubs are moving to resolve issues. Roma still had the desire and need to make some deals; in my opinion, last-minute moves wouldn’t have yielded a technical advantage.”

“The club will have the opportunity to do so more calmly in the next transfer window.”

“We’re all aligned with the club. There was an excellent feeling right from the start, and the Friedkins were very open to it. We knew about the difficulties of Fair Play, and the operations we wanted to carry out were carried out.”

“The transfer market has become complicated; it’s not just the two teams. There are agents and proxies; for Roma, the priority was the offensive phase. Some players who were favorable to me had been identified, but you don’t always get what you want.”

“The process was in line with the reasons why the owners and I aligned. Two young players arrived in defense, Wesley arrived on the right in a position that was covered last year by Soulé. El Aynaoui arrived, and Ferguson arrived in attack. The attack is the slightly more complicated department; I won’t deny that I wouldn’t have liked a greater presence up front.
