He was in advanced negotiations with Roma and on Thursday was in Tuscany for a meeting with Dan and Ryan Friedkin, director Florent Ghisolfi and the man he is ready to replace, Claudio Ranieri.

According to multiple sources, there was no agreement, as they still need to sort out some details.

This is leaving the door open for Juventus to make an offer of their own, which DAZN and Sportitalia suggest is not to be entirely discounted.

It might be a little late, but with no decision yet made, Gasperini could be open to a move towards Juventus instead.

Things at Juve are changing rapidly, because they had their sights set on Antonio Conte, who today recommitted his future to Napoli.

The Bianconeri are also expected to fire director of sport Cristiano Giuntoli as part of a total revamp of their strategy.
