AC Milan are on the verge of completing the signing of Santiago Gimenez, just waiting on the contract signing, but there is still some time left on the mercato. According to a report, the Rossoneri could make more signings.
An agreement was reached with Feyenoord on Friday evening, allowing Gimenez to travel to Milan yesterday afternoon. The striker is currently undergoing his medical tests for the club and will then sign his contract, before watching the Derby della Madonnina at San Siro.
According to today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Milan might not stop at Gimenez. The midfield is a slight concern, given that Ismael Bennacer is yet to reach top condition and Ruben Loftus-Cheek is injured, so there could be a reinforcement here.
Warren Bondo (Monza) and Nicolo Fagioli (Juventus) have been proposed by intermediaries, but Milan haven’t explored these options yet. After the signing of Gimenez, it’s clear that any signing for midfield cannot weigh heavily on the accounts, which is difficult to achieve but not impossible…
In attack, Joao Felix continues to be linked with Milan and his agent Jorge Mendes is in constant talks with the clubs. The problem is that the Rossoneri don’t want to pay for a loan to Chelsea, and the latter don’t want to let the Portuguese international go without some cash.
In fact, the Blues might not even contribute to the salary, which would make everything complicated. The option remains alive for Milan but as things stand, there are many difficulties to overcome. Also because the likes of Noah Okafor and Luka Jovic are still at the club.
