La Gazzetta dello Sport expects a ‘long truce’ between Antonio Conte and Aurelio De Laurentiis in the final part of the season before the pair sits down to discuss the future.

Tension is running high at Napoli after coach Conte complained about the club’s management before and after a 1-0 win over Monza, which ultimately allowed the Partenopei to climb back to the top of the table, level on points with Inter.

President De Laurentiis hit back at his coach before the game on Saturday, saying that his claims could create “unease.” However, the Italian tactician warned after the win in Monza that he could not “live on miracles rather than planning.”

Tuesday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport predicts that the back-and-forth between the coach and the president will end for the remainder of the season, as the Partenopei must focus on the title race in the final five league games of the campaign.

This, however, doesn’t mean that Conte’s future at the club is already decided despite a contract expiring in 2027.

The coach and De Laurentiis will meet at the end of the campaign to discuss the future, and Conte’s exit still remains a possibility, especially with some top Italian clubs linked with his services, including Milan and Juventus.
