David Ornstein of The Athletic reports that Liverpool have pulled out of negotiations to sign RB Leipzig’s Lutsharel Geertruida, with the deal deemed too complicated to complete.

On Sunday, Sky Germany reported that Liverpool were closing in on a late move for the 25-year-old Dutch right-back, who is on loan at Sunderland.

The latest stance suggests the proposed switch is off.

He joined on loan last summer and has made 17 appearances for the Premier League side.

Geertruida remains under contract with RB Leipzig until 2029.
