Genoa target Marseille’s Hamed Junior Traoré | OneFootball

Hamed Junior Traoré (26) may return to Italy, according to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio, despite the Ivorian being set to make his move to Olympique de Marseille permanent.

Traoré joined OM from AFC Bournemouth last summer on a loan deal that included an obligation to make the move permanent, in the event that certain conditions were met. Traoré is indeed set to make the move to the Vélodrome permanent for a reported fee of €7.5m. However, his stay may be a short one. 

He endured a tough season at Marseille. It was a campaign blighted by injuries, which limited him to just 19 games for Les Phocéens in all competitions. In that time, he scored three goals and registered two assists. 

Due to financial difficulties, Marseille are listening to offers for most of their squad, and that includes the Ivorian. Di Marzio understands that Traoré, who has previously also played for US Sassuolo, Empoli FC, and SSC Napoli in Italy, could make a move to Genoa.
