George Campbell is on the radar of SPL champions Celtic and discussion has begun over what fee West Brom could seek, according to ExpressAndStar.com, whose Baggies Broadcast has also compared the situation to Torbjorn Heggem’s move to Bologna.

The US international became something of an unsung hero among Albion fans in his debut season despite a relegation fight.

Signed from Montreal for £1.5m last summer, he started at right back before establishing himself as Albion’s first-choice central defender.

Campbell added threat in the opposite box, scoring four across the campaign, including a stunner in a 1-1 draw with Sheffield United.

The focus now turns to potential valuations should bids arrive, with Celtic’s interest following a strong first year in English football.
