This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Benjamin Pavard will be a versatile option from the bench.

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is having to work around an injury crisis at the moment.

All of Matteo Darmian, Carlos Augusto, and Nicola Zalewski are unavailable against Napoli this evening.

More than the number of injuries, the problem is that they are all in one position.

With those three wingbacks unavailable, only Federico Dimarco and Denzel Dumfries are fit as wingbacks.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has considered a few ideas to work around the lack of options on the flanks.

But on the other hand, there would also be the possibility of repurposing a player in the squad to play at wingback.

Benjamin Pavard would be a logical candidate in this respect.

The 29-year-old former Bayern Munich defender has shown his versatility throughout his career.

Pavard has found an ideal position playing on the right of a back three. However, he can play at either centre-back or full-back in a back four as well.

And Pavard could also play as a more attacking wingback.

Therefore, reports the Corriere, Inzaghi will keep Pavard in reserve as a potential substitute. The Frenchman could take over from Denzel Dumfries on the right flank.

Accordingly, the newspaper predict, it will be Yann Bisseck who starts on the right of the back three.
