Germany cruised past Curaçao 7-1 in Houston on Sunday to open their World Cup campaign in style.

Felix Nmecha put Germany ahead early with a fine strike from the edge of the box, then won the penalty that Kai Havertz converted to make it 3-1. According to BuLi News, he was named Germany’s man of the match with nine out of 10.

Nmecha regularly broke from midfield into advanced areas, led the team with four shots and completed 95% of his passes. He also impressed defensively, winning six of eight duels.

Joshua Kimmich and Nico Schlotterbeck each received nine. Nathaniel Brown earned eight-and-a-half, Jamal Musiala eight and Havertz eight.

Aleksandar Pavlovic was given seven and Florian Wirtz seven-and-a-half. Manuel Neuer and Jonathan Tah took six apiece, while Leroy Sané was marked at five.

From the bench, Deniz Undav scored an eight. Leon Goretzka, Antonio Rüdiger, David Raum and Waldemar Anton were not graded.
