Germany runners-up in Nations League

Germany beaten in final

Germany were the better side for large parts of the first leg of their Nations League final against Spain but unable to get a goal in front of a crowd of 40,000 in Kaiserslautern. Damnjanović leads Serbia to victory

Damnjanović was the hero for Serbia in their friendly against the Czech Republic, scoring the only goal of the game in the 17th minute. The 31-year-old also started their second match against the Czechs, which Serbia again won 2-1.

Bayern encounter in Far East

Tanikawa and Japan had a double-header against a Canada side featuring Vanessa Gilles, with the former prevailing both times. The Bayern midfielder both scored and assisted in the first 3-0 win. The 20-year-old also played in the subsequent 1-0 victory. Gilles featured in both for Canada.

Dunst returns for Austria

Barbara Dunst played her first international game since her cruciate ligament injury as she came on in the 63rd minute for Bayern teammate Maria Plattner in Austria’s friendly against Finland, coming from 1-0 down to draw 1-1. Plattner, Dunst and Kathi Naschenweng all started the following game against Ukraine but lost 3-2.

Ballisager and Hansen face off

Tuva Hansen’s Norway claimed a famous 3-1 win over Brazil, with the Bayern defender setting up Signe Gaupset for the opener. They then faced Denmark and Stine Ballisager in their second game, which ended goalless.
