Palmeiras returned to work on Thursday morning, a day after beating Coritiba 3-1 at Couto Pereira in the 19th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. Giay progressed in his recovery as Vitor Roque and Felipe Anderson trained with the group.

According to Globo.com, the Argentine full-back remains on an individual programme because of an ankle sprain, though he worked on the pitch alongside the Núcleo de Saúde e Performance. He is a doubt for Sunday’s meeting with Atlético-MG.

Vitor Roque and Felipe Anderson, both absent in Curitiba, participated without restrictions. The forward is still in physical transition, while the No 7 continues his recovery from a thigh oedema.

The pair could make Palmeiras’ matchday squad against Atlético-MG, bolstering an attack that was short-handed against Coritiba. The decision rests with the coaching staff.

Starters completed regeneration in the recovery and neuroscience rooms, while the remaining players worked on tactical match scenarios on the pitches at the Academia de Futebol. There will be three more sessions before the game, including a matchday workout when Abel Ferreira will settle on his starting XI and final details.

Paulinho returns from suspension. Palmeiras lead the Brasileiro on 44 points, seven clear of second-placed Flamengo, who have a game in hand. The Atlético-MG match is scheduled for 19:30 at Nubank Parque.
