Gillingham have reacted to the news of Manchester City being found guilty of the majority of charges they were facing for financial rule breaches.
Gillingham have reacted to Manchester City's recent guilty verdict on the majority of charges they were faced with for financial rule breaches.
The Premier League giants await any sanctions that will come their way, although it remains unclear as to what punishment they'll be hit with.
Manchester City released a statement following the verdict on being found guilty of 114 of 115 charges that highlighted the process remains 'ongoing', which makes it interesting to see what developments come in the near future.
"The Premier League process remains ongoing with significant elements to be completed, and subject to strict confidentiality. The club has diligently respected due process for eight years on the basis that the Premier League Board and Executive would behave as an independent, impartial and fair-minded regulator, free from partisan influence."
Unsurprisingly, there has been plenty of reaction online to Manchester City being found guilty on the majority of charges for financial rule breaches, with some rival supporters calling for them to have their titles taken away, as well as dropping down the divisions.

League Two side Gillingham might not be the most obvious club to feel aggrieved over Manchester City's recent financial rule breaches, but they did play against City all the way back in 1999 in a hugely important game.
Obviously, City didn't have the well-documented wealth they have now back in 1999, but one supporter suggested that the Gills are awarded the 1999 Division 2 play-off title, instead of Manchester City.
Gillingham drew 2-2 with City in that game, before narrowly missing out on promotion, after being beaten 3-1 on penalties, in a heartbreaking end to the season for the club's supporters.
Gillingham took to social media to react with a famous image of Erling Haaland looking smug in response to the supporters' suggestion that the Division 2 play-off title should be overturned.

It would be a serious understatement to say that both Gillingham and Manchester City have gone in different directions since that Division 2 play-off final at Wembley Stadium.
City went on to achieve back-to-back promotions after that win over Gillingham in Division 2, before dropping back into the second-tier after one year in the Premier League.
However, they won promotion back into the top-flight at the first opportunity, and have played in the Premier League ever since. They've got a significant amount of wealth behind them, which has resulted in eight Premier League titles since the 2011/12 season.
Gillingham went one better the following season after that defeat to City, as they won promotion into Division 1 via the play-offs, but haven't kicked on since then.
The Gills haven't played higher than the Championship since the 2004/05 campaign, and it seems a very tough ask to see them playing higher up the English football pyramid anytime soon.
Gillingham are currently playing their football in League Two, and a supercomputer has predicted the final League Two standings, and they aren't too confident that they can challenge for promotion.

With Manchester City found guilty of the majority of the charges they were facing, the club's supporters will be fearing the worst, which could mean points deductions.
Other clubs are already seeking legal advice over potential compensation after the recent update on Man City's financial charges.
Gillingham won't be one of those clubs, of course, although their recent social media reaction to the news of Man City's recent guilty verdict has gone down well with plenty of football fans.
One fan is expecting to play them next year.
Another said he was 'loving' it.
This fan wants 'justice'.
Glowing praise for the Gillingham social media admin as well after the recent reaction.
