Gisela Robledo has been called up by Colombia, becoming Corinthians’ seventh international absentee for the Teal Rising Cup. According to Meu Timao, the forward has been selected for three further Women’s Nations League fixtures that will decide South America’s qualifiers for the 2027 World Cup, which will be staged in Brazil.
Colombia face Venezuela, Chile and Argentina on 10, 14 and 18 April respectively. Robledo’s country sit fourth on seven points, one behind leaders Venezuela.
Each nation has already played at least three games and will complete nine in the single round. All teams meet once, the top two qualify directly for the World Cup, while third and fourth head to the play-offs.
Robledo joins six Corinthians team-mates on international duty. Lelê, Thaís Ferreira, Gi Fernandes, Duda Sampaio and Ana Vitória were called by Arthur Elias for Brazil’s Fifa Series at Arena Pantanal, and Dayana Rodríguez will represent Venezuela in the same competition.
All will miss the tournament in the United States. Corinthians play Kansas City Current on nine April at 22:00 Brasília time in the semi-final. The final and third-place match take place on 12 April, and if they advance they could meet Palmeiras or América, of Mexico.
The call-ups also cast doubt over availability for Juventude on 20 April at Estádio Homero Soldatelli in the Campeonato Brasileiro. Before then, the players are available and are expected to feature on Friday three April when Corinthians host Red Bull Bragantino at 21:00 at Fazendinha.
