The search for a new sporting director for Roma is now officially underway, with the goal of finding someone who can establish a fruitful technical collaboration, the one that never materialized between Massara and Gasperini, as the coach himself revealed.

The partnership, in fact, is no longer sustainable and has prompted plans for a change that began with Ranieri’s departure.

The hunt for a new technical director has therefore begun in Houston, with a crucial meeting scheduled for June 30th, the date of the Settlement Agreement, but also with a summer schedule that includes renewals and new signings in view of the centenary season.

Among the leading candidates for the Massara replacement, Il Tempo reports, is Cristiano Giuntoli, currently sidelined after his time at Juventus, who enjoys Gasperini’s respect.

Fabio Paratici, who recently signed a long-term contract with Fiorentina, also remains a considered option, given his good relationship with the coach.

Other names in the background include Tony D’Amico, who worked with Gasperini at Atalanta since 2022, and Giovanni Manna, Napoli’s current technical director, although the latter is unlikely to be released.

Finally, Sean Sogliano, currently on his way out of Verona, is ready to apply for the role.
