Gladbach sign Zento Uno

Borussia Mönchengladbach have completed the signing of 22-year-old Japanese midfielder Zento Uno from Shimizu S-Pulse.
Gladbach confirmed the move on Thursday, announcing a contract running until 2030, and unveiled him as their latest arrival.
Sporting director Rouven Schröder characterised Uno as a defensive, tactically disciplined midfielder who tackles strongly, covers plenty of ground and excels off the ball.
He said that after two seasons in the J.League and first appearances for Japan, a switch to the Bundesliga is the next, and demanding, step, and that the club believe his character and determination can help him make it successfully.
Uno, capped twice by Japan, said he had long dreamt of the Bundesliga, views Borussia as a major club widely known in Japan through its compatriots, and decided immediately that he wanted to join when the offer arrived.
He added that he is happy to take this step and is looking forward to the new challenge.
