The incident happened near the Ironworks pub ahead of the Championship fixture on Saturday, February 7. Attending officers chased Currie on foot and arrested him nearby.

He was identified as a suspect and had fled the scene with a group of men. According to NorthWalesLive, he later pleaded guilty to assault at Wrexham Magistrates' Court on Thursday, March 12.

The court imposed a football banning order that prohibits him from attending matches for five years.
