Crystal Palace are preparing to step up contract talks with Oliver Glasner during the international break, with the Austrian drawing interest from Manchester United.

Glasner’s deal at Selhurst Park expires at the end of the season, and Palace are determined to secure his long-term future after a run of success that has seen them lift the FA Cup, beat Liverpool in the Community Shield and start their maiden European campaign unbeaten.

Sky Sports News report that discussions between Palace and Glasner have already taken place, with the 51-year-old said to be seeking assurances that the club will continue to back him in the transfer market.

He has been vocal about his concerns over recent recruitment, despite the squad still delivering results on the pitch.

Palace supporters have rallied behind Glasner, who has overseen a 19-game unbeaten streak that now stands as a club record. His side opened their Conference League group stage with victory over Dynamo Kyiv in Poland, underlining their progress since his appointment last year.

But his rising profile has not gone unnoticed. Manchester United have been linked with Glasner as doubts linger over Ruben Amorim’s future.

Palace remain hopeful of persuading their head coach to commit. Insiders suggest Glasner has not rejected a contract offer, contrary to speculation, and that talks are expected to accelerate in the coming weeks.

The South London club know keeping him would represent a major statement at a time when captain Marc Guehi is expected to leave at the end of his contract and playmaker Adam Wharton is attracting elite interest.

Glasner himself has given mixed signals. He praised chairman Steve Parish for blocking Guehi’s late move to Liverpool on deadline day, describing it as an important show of ambition.

Yet he has also expressed frustration at what he viewed as passive business in recent windows, hinting that his long-term commitment depends on Palace matching his ambitions.

For now, Palace can point to momentum on the pitch and optimism in the stands. But with Glasner’s stock at its highest, they face a battle to convince him that Selhurst Park is the right place to continue his upward trajectory.
