Globo in talks to buy Libertadores rights, final could be included in 2027 | OneFootball

According to Coluna Do Fla, Grupo Globo is close to securing the second pay-TV package for Copa Libertadores rights from 2027 to 2030, which would return the competition to SporTV after seven years.

The bundle under discussion covers 76 matches, a priority pick, and the competition’s final, the latter the key change in talks with Conmebol. Previously, the final was not part of the second lot, so its inclusion signals a move to widen access to the title decider.

Paramount, the current holder, was the main rival for the package and even considered walking away from its deal that runs to 2026, but has opted to keep investing to continue broadcasts. Globo has since stepped up its bid to deepen SporTV’s live sport offering, intensifying the contest in recent months.

While negotiations progress, the 2025 Libertadores is reaching its latter stages. Corinthians, Estudiantes (ARG), Independiente del Valle (EQU), Flamengo, Palmeiras, LDU (EQU), Fluminense and Platense (ARG) are in the quarter-finals.

Flamengo won the first leg away to Independiente del Valle in Quito, at altitude, 2-0, with goals from Bruno Henrique and Léo Pereira. They can lose the return by one goal and still reach the semi-final, while a Del Valle win by two would take it to penalties.

Flamengo are the reigning champions. Under coach Filipe Luís at the time, they beat Palmeiras 1-0 in the final in Lima, Peru, with a goal from Danilo.
