Goal-hungry Eintracht win season opener | OneFootball

The Eagles beat amateur side FC Gießen 7-1 in an entertaining friendly thanks to goals from Ebnoutalib, Dills and Arrhov, as well as braces from Burkardt and Pimpong.

Ebnoutalib nets first goal of the season  As expected, Adi Hütter’s charges were dominant from the off against their fifth-tier opponents, and soon converted their superiority into goals when Younes Ebnoutalib gave Eintracht an early lead in the 11th minute. Burkardt at the doubleThe Eagles continued to play on the front foot, linking up well and clearly enjoying the occasion. Marvin Dills (16’) and a double from  Jonny Burkardt (26’, 36’) made the score 4-0 at half-time. 

Pimpong on the scoresheet

Summer signing Malik Pimpong extended Eintracht’s advantage early in the second half following a pass from Ansgar Knauff, putting Hütter’s side 5-0 ahead in the 57th minute. Knauff was the provider once again shortly after the hour-mark when he crossed into the Gießen penalty area and found Love Arrhov, who found the net from seven metres out. 

The Eagles refused to ease off and were rewarded with a seventh goal in the 69th minute when Keita Kosugi teed up Pimpong for his second of the game. The hosts struck a consolation goal shortly before the final whistle, although it did little to spoil an all-round successful friendly for Eintracht, who ran out 7-1 winners.
