Godfrey ‘to join’ Rangers on loan after €12.5m Everton transfer | OneFootball

Ben Godfrey is on the verge of a loan move to Rangers, with an option to buy, after a difficult spell at Atalanta.

Sky Sport Italia and the Daily Record report the deal is close and would include an option to make the switch permanent at the end of the campaign.

Atalanta paid €12.5m to sign the defender from Everton in 2024, but he featured only five times in competitive action, totalling 93 minutes.

The 26-year-old won two senior England caps in 2021 and has endured serious setbacks, including a knee ligament tear and a fractured leg in 2022.

During his time in Bergamo there were loans to Ipswich Town and Sheffield United, then a six-month stint at Brondby in Denmark.
