According to ESPN, AC Milan are on the verge of reaching an agreement with Leon Goretzka, with the Rossoneri currently said to have the best chances in the race for the 31-year-old

With the midfielder’s contract at FC Bayern expiring, Milan could sign the German international on a free transfer. According to the report, Goretzka can look forward to a three-year contract in Italy

There also seems to be a clear financial plan in place, with the former international reportedly earning around five million euros per year in Milan

This would probably mark the start of a new chapter for Goretzka after many years at FC Bayern. The midfielder moved to Munich from FC Schalke 04 on a free transfer in 2018 and has developed into an important part of the Bayern team in recent years

However, it appears that Milan have now made a decisive move

FC Bayern will lose a long-standing leading player in Goretzka. At the same time, his departure fits in with the current realignment of the squad. Those responsible around Max Eberl and Christoph Freund are already working intensively on planning for the coming season and want to make selective changes to the team.
