Gorgui Dieng invites Senegal to tour San Antonio Spurs facilities before World Cup | OneFootball

Gorgui Dieng has welcomed Senegal to the San Antonio Spurs’ training base after the squad arrived in the United States ahead of the World Cup.

According to L'Équipe, the Lions of Teranga made a stop in San Antonio and visited The Rock, the Spurs’ training centre.

The programme featured a guided tour of the complex, some casual shooting and a dinner provided by their host. The NBA finalists were on the road in New York after losing their first two home games to the Knicks.

Dieng, retired since 2023 after a final season with the Spurs, is assistant general manager of the Austin Spurs, the G League affiliate of Victor Wembanyama’s team.

A supporter of Senegal for the tournament, which for them begins on 16 July against France at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, he received a national-team shirt signed by the 26 players selected by Pape Thiaw. He posed for photos as each player left with a personalised Spurs jersey bearing his name and number.
