Goti misses with injury, Javi López and Pacheco omitted for technical reasons | OneFootball

Real Sociedad wrapped up their Birmingham tour with a late absentee, as Mikel Goti missed the 2-4 win at Aston Villa due to left ankle discomfort. He will undergo tests on Wednesday at Zubieta to determine the extent.

According to Diario Vasco, he had featured in the second half against Wolves, and with Sucic, Soler and Zakharyan among the midfield options, it remains to be seen whether this issue proves a setback for the left-footer.

Also unused, besides goalkeepers Marrero and Fraga, were Javi López and Jon Pacheco. The pair were left out for technical reasons despite being fully fit.

Both warmed up knowing they would not be used, as Kita, who did not play on Saturday, came in, and Aihen again delivered from full-back. The Navarra-born player's future is not assured.

As for the Tenerife-born Javi López, his continuation is not guaranteed either. Matarazzo started him against Racing and Wolves to assess him, but he did not play at Aston Villa.

Pacheco’s case may be different and could simply reflect rotation given the number of centre-backs, although there are three full-backs on the tour and Balda is still missing. The Elizondo native will stay at Real and will try to earn minutes after a loan in Vitoria that was not entirely satisfactory.
