West Ham have sacked Graham Potter after just over eight months as manager of the club.
The Englishman was appointed on a two and a half year contract in January but after just five games of the Premier League season the Hammers have decided to part ways with him.
Potter’s side have lost four of their opening five matches this season, including a 3-0 loss to rivals Tottenham and a 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace in what would be his final match in charge of the club.
West Ham currently sit 19th in the Premier League with their only points coming in a 3-0 win over Nuno Espirito Santo’s Nottingham Forest. The Portuguese manager has since been sacked by Forest.
The club confirmed on Saturday morning that he had left the club after results this year had not matched the expectations of the club.
Their statement reads: “Results and performances over the course of the second half of last season and the start of the 2025/26 season have not matched expectations, and the Board of Directors believe that a change is necessary in order to help improve the team’s position in the Premier League as soon as possible.
“The club can confirm that Assistant Coach Bruno Saltor, First Team Coaches Billy Reid and Narcis Pelach, Lead Goalkeeper Coach Casper Ankergren, and Goalkeeper Coach Linus Kandolin have also left with immediate effect.
“The board would like to thank Graham and his coaching staff for their hard work during their time with the Hammers and wish them every success for the future.
“The process of appointing a replacement is underway. The Club will be making no further comment at this time.”
