“Great news for us” – Enzo Maresca provides positive injury news after Cole Palmer setback | OneFootball

Enzo Maresca has confirmed Enzo Fernandez is fit and available for Saturday’s game against Burnley at Turf Moor.

The Blues travel to Burnley looking to make it three Premier League wins in a row, and sit six points behind leaders Arsenal.

Chelsea were handed a blow before the game with Cole Palmer set to miss the next three games with a fractured toe.

Enzo Fernandez fit and available

Despite Palmer being out there is good news on the injury front for Chelsea, after a number of players pulled out of international duty.

Fernandez withdrew from the Argentina squad due to pain in his knee, and the 24-year-old has used the last two weeks to recover.

The World Cup winner is very important to Chelsea, and Maresca provided an update on his fitness ahead of Saturday’s game.

“And then Enzo [Fernandez] and Pedro [Neto], they used the international break to recover a little bit of energy, also to recover from the injury, the problems they had, and they are both available for tomorrow,” he told his pre-match press conference.

It will be interesting to see what team Maresca fields given Chelsea face Barcelona on Tuesday night in a huge Champions League clash.

Benoit Badiashile back available

It’s not just Fernandez and Pedro Neto who are available once again, but Maresca confirmed Benoit Badishile is back, whilst Moises Caicedo returned from international duty on Thursday night.

“Moi [Caicedo] came back last night, we haven’t seen him yet, but we’ll see Moi in a while,” he added.

Given Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo are absent the fact Fernandez is fit and available is a huge boost, whilst it appears Caicedo is fine after playing twice for Ecuador over the break.
