Grêmio exchange documents to finalise Cristian Olivera loan move to Nacional | OneFootball

According to Gremistas.net, Grêmio’s new hierarchy are close to completing their first departure. Negotiations for forward Cristian Olivera are well advanced, with documents being exchanged for an expected loan move to Nacional in the coming days.

Other sides registered interest, but he wanted to play for his boyhood club. In Brazil, Bahia made an enquiry that was turned down.

The agreement between Grêmio and Nacional is a one-year loan running to December 2026. It includes a fixed price for a potential permanent transfer should the Uruguayan club wish to buy.

Grêmio signed Cristian Olivera from LAFC at the start of 2024 for $4.5 million, around R$ 25 million, acquiring 75% of his economic rights.

Internally, Grêmio had already earmarked the forward for a move at the start of this season. Episodes of indiscipline and public comments about wanting to leave only increased the likelihood of an exit.

Further departures are possible, with the new board planning a major overhaul of the squad.
