Grêmio were confronted by a small protest on arrival in Buenos Aires on Monday, with head coach Luís Castro briefly engaging with supporters outside the team hotel.
A group of four fans voiced criticism and demands as the delegation disembarked. According to Globo.com, Castro approached the barrier and held a short conversation.
The coach kept a calm, low tone and his words were hard to make out in the footage. Fans called for greater desire on the pitch and said the team had to win the next day.
After a remark from Castro, one protester loudly urged that Tetê should no longer be used. Grêmio’s vice-president of football, Antônio Dutra Junior, also spoke with the group.
Grêmio face Deportivo Riestra on Tuesday at 19:00 at the Nuevo Gasómetro in Group F. The Brazilian side sit second on four points, the same as their Argentine opponents, and currently hold the head-to-head edge after a 1-0 home win in the reverse fixture.
