Grêmio have been notified by Belgian club Anderlecht over a delayed payment for Amuzu. The Belgians have warned they could take the matter to Fifa if the debt is not settled.

According to Globo.com, Anderlecht are seeking about 400,000 euros, roughly R$ 2.3 million. The amount relates to last year, when Grêmio agreed the 26-year-old forward’s transfer in February for 1.2 million euros.

Beyond the outstanding balance, Amuzu’s situation in Porto Alegre also requires another negotiation. He is contracted only until the end of 2026.

Wearing the number nine shirt this season, he has scored seven goals and provided four assists in 32 games. Last year he recorded five goals and three assists in 33 appearances.

His form in Brazil drew attention from Ghana. He was called up by head coach Carlos Queiroz for a friendly before the World Cup, but Grêmio did not release him and he was then left out of the tournament squad.
