According to Gremistas.net, Grêmio are close to announcing their first sale under the new board, with forward Alysson in advanced talks to join Aston Villa, currently third in the Premier League.
The English club’s interest dates back to November, and only final details are said to remain before an agreement is sealed.
Recent discussions centred on improving the amount returned to Grêmio, and the club has secured better terms.
Contractually, Grêmio held 80% of Alysson’s economic rights, with the player owning 20%. The new board reached an agreement with him that lifts the club’s share to 90%.
That would give Grêmio nine million euros, around R$ 56.9 million, from a 10 million euro fee, roughly R$ 63.3 million. Villa’s proposal also includes up to two and a half million euros, about R$ 15.8 million, in performance-related add-ons.
The offer to Alysson is for five and a half years, running to June 2031.
Inside the club, the new leadership view the young forward as one of the likeliest to be sold, given his rising valuation and the number of enquiries in recent months.
