Grêmio have used nearly two weeks off for training and rest and are close to returning away to Remo.
According to Globo.com, they beat Sindicato dos Atletas do RS 5-0 at CT Luiz Carvalho, with goals from Pavon, Kannemann, Tetê, Matheus Nascimento and Nardoni.
Renato Portaluppi has used the window to refine technical and tactical details and support players’ physical recovery.
This season began earlier due to calendar changes, particularly the World Cup, with the Campeonato Gaúcho starting on 10 January. Since then Grêmio have played 53 competitive matches.
Six players have reached at least 40 appearances, led by Carlos Vinícius on 48, then Weverton 46, Amuzu 44, Pavon 43, Enamorado 42 and Noriega 40.
Carlos Vinícius leads the scoring with 20 goals and has started 41 of his 48 outings, featuring in 90% of Grêmio’s matches in 2026.
Weverton has excelled with important saves, earning a World Cup call-up, and made 12 saves against Palmeiras. He leads the Brasileirão for goals prevented and has started all 46 matches when selected.
Amuzu, third most used, is the team’s second top scorer with eight and has started 34 of his 44 games. Among the trio, the Belgian is the only player under 30.
After Luís Castro’s exit, Grêmio reshaped fitness staff, with Rogério Dias, Rogerinho, and Mário Pereira taking over alongside Renato’s arrival.
Grêmio still have at least 12 fixtures to play, 10 Brasileirão rounds and two Copa do Brasil semi-finals against Atlético-MG, potentially more if they reach the final.
