There will be no Grenoble supporters at Geoffroy-Guichard for ASSE’s Ligue 2 meeting on Saturday at 20:00.

According to Le Progres, the Interior Minister published an order on Thursday prohibiting travel by Grenoble fans for this fixture.

The order cites multiple considerations and recaps previous incidents involving both sets of supporters across a six-page document.

It also references the most recent meeting between the clubs, which descended into fighting after coaches carrying Saint-Étienne fans were misdirected by police to the GF38 ultras’ end.

The ministerial move backs an early August decision by the Loire prefect to close the away section for this game.

Red Kaos, the Grenoble ultras group, said their supporters had always complied with conditions in Saint-Étienne and that authorities remained closed to dialogue, which they strongly regretted.
