Greuther Fürth sign Mainz centre-half Maxim Dal | OneFootball

SpVgg Greuther Fürth have signed 20-year-old centre-half Maxim Dal from 1.FSV Mainz 05, with both clubs keeping the transfer details confidential.

Mainz sporting director Niko Bungert said Dal had progressed through their youth ranks, showed great potential and earned attention with regular U23 starts in the Regionalliga, but fierce competition meant first-team minutes were unlikely. He wished the defender well on and off the pitch.

Dal leaves after more than 10 years at Mainz, having advanced through the club’s academy sides.

He was part of the group that won the German A-Junior Championship in 2023 and reached the last eight of the UEFA Youth League.

The move takes the centre-half into the 2. Bundesliga with Greuther Fürth.
