The Women's First Team are preparing for their Serie A Women's Cup semi-final clash against Inter. The game will take place on Saturday, September 12 at 20:30 CEST.

Head coach Isaac Guerrero previewed the clash, which will take place at Biella.

FORM AND PREPARATION

“The squad are in good shape going into this fixture, with plenty of confidence. It’s true that we’ve just come through a gruelling run, a tough schedule of five matches in just 17 days, and in our last match we paid the price physically and mentally, finding ourselves less fresh than usual. After a week of more ‘streamlined’ and regular training, we hope to be ready and performing at our best for this fantastic challenge that awaits us against Inter.”

ON INTER

“We’re really looking forward to this match. Facing teams of this calibre helps us grow enormously, just as it did with Milan and all the opponents we’ve faced so far. Inter will present us with a great challenge. They are a very aggressive side, capable of attacking the box with quick transitions into our half. This will demand our utmost focus, both when winning the ball back and when going on the attack. They have key players who have proven their worth on the international stage too. It will be a real test for the whole movement and for us in particular. It raises the bar, and we’ll face the challenge with great determination.”

ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT

“We must continue to work to become increasingly consistent and steady in our style of play. We want to take the initiative and dominate the match. It’s a natural process; experiencing dips in form or failing to maintain the same intensity for the full 90 minutes is part of the process, especially when facing opponents of the very highest calibre. The aim is to minimise these dips in form and be even more consistent.”

"From a footballing perspective, we are losing a world-class player of the highest calibre, who is fundamental to our style of play and whose infectious determination rubs off on all her teammates.
