Gulacsi 'closing in on' Villarreal move from Leipzig | OneFootball

Unhappy with a back-up role at RB Leipzig, Peter Gulacsi is planning his exit ahead of the 2026-27 season, with Maarten Vandevoordt considered the new number one.

According to BuLi News, the 36-year-old is closing in on a move to La Liga side Villarreal.

Negotiations between the clubs are in full swing, and Villarreal are reportedly close to agreement with the Hungarian international.

If the deal is finalised, Gulacsi would depart after 362 competitive appearances for Leipzig and one DFB Pokal victory.

Leipzig could then seek an experienced goalkeeper willing to serve as a deputy.
