Gustavo Henrique tops Corinthians defenders’ scoring chart for the decade | OneFootball

Corinthians beat Peñarol 2-0 at Neo Química Arena on Thursday, with Jesse Lingard and Gustavo Henrique on target. The centre-back’s strike lifted him to the top of the club’s defenders’ scoring list for the decade.

According to Meu Timao, he has moved ahead of Cacá on eight, while former defender Gil sits third with seven between 2021 and 2023. From the current squad, André Ramalho, Gabriel Paulista and João Pedro Tchoca have two apiece.

Henrique’s scoring run for Corinthians began in 2024, in a 2-1 Copa do Brasil defeat to Juventude. He added another that year in a 3-1 Brasileirão win over Vasco.

In 2025 he found the net four times. The first came in the Copa do Brasil Dérbi second leg, when Corinthians knocked out Palmeiras at Allianz Parque, then three more in the league, in wins over Vasco and Grêmio and a draw with Botafogo.

This year he scored on opening day in a 3-0 victory against Ponte Preta. He has since added two in the Libertadores, including against Santa Fe of Colombia.

Henrique has made 97 appearances since arriving in 2024 and is under contract until December 2027. He will miss Sunday’s 2026 Brasileirão match at Mirassol, 20:30, after receiving his third yellow card against Vasco, which triggers an automatic suspension.
