Hakan Calhanoglu ‘open to joining’ Fenerbahçe after contact | OneFootball

Fotomaç reports that Fenerbahçe have made Hakan Calhanoglu a priority and begun efforts to bring the Inter midfielder to Istanbul, with the player said to be open to the move.

During a trip to Italy, board member Cihan Kamer held talks with AC Milan over Rafa Leao and also made contact with Calhanoglu’s entourage.

Fenerbahçe are preparing a move that could follow 11 August, the date of the second leg in the preliminary qualifying round for the final Champions League group stage against Sturm Graz.

If they reach the play-off, the last hurdle before the Champions League League Phase, Fener would be guaranteed at least Europa League football if eliminated there. That would give any arrivals, including Calhanoglu or Leao, a European stage.

Calhanoglu is viewed as a top player who could lift the squad, and next season’s 10+4 foreign-player limit in Türkiye is pushing Super Lig clubs to reinforce their Turkish core.

His contract runs to 2027, leaving a year remaining. Inter value him at €25-30 million, and he earns €6 million net.
