Sky Germany – as relayed by transfermarkt.de – reports that Hamburg and RB Leipzig have finalized the terms of Yussuf Poulsen’s transfer. The 31-year-old Danish international will move to just the second Bundesliga club of his long career for a €1.5m transfer fee. Poulsen himself will receive a €1m buyout from the German Red Bulls.

HSV board-member-for-sport Stefan Kuntz revealed that Poulsen’s transfer was close to being sewn up at a Thursday press event. Hamburg are absolutely getting a steal of a deal in this case. Poulsen – who still scored six goals for Leipzig across all competitions last season – maintains an estimated €5m market value even at this stage of his career.

Poulsen will directly replace Hamburg’s leading 2. Bundesliga scorer from last season, Davie Selke. Yesterday, it was revealed precisely which Turkish club Selke would be transferring out to. The 30-year-old signed with Basaksehir Instanbul.

Moving abroad for the first time in his checkered career, Selke bid the German club at which he finally succeeded an emotional farewell in a video message.

How you welcomed me will always remain in my heart,” Selke told HSV fans. “It was important to me to say goodbye to you all. It was the best year I’ve ever had as a footballer. The scenes after the game against Ulm [when promotion was secured] and the celebrations on the balcony of the town hall will stay with me forever. We have experienced things that will connect us forever.
