The local Hamburger Abendblatt reports that Hamburg are considering a move for OGC Nice striker Terem Moffi as they continue reshaping their attacking options. According to the paper, Hamburg SV have opened talks regarding the 27-year-old Nigerian international, whose contract with the Ligue 1 club runs through 2027.
The former Lorient forward nevertheless carries with him the burden of significant fitness concerns. An anterior cruciate ligament injury ruled Moffi out for almost the entirety of the 2024/25 campaign. He made only ten appearances for Nice following his return before joining Porto on loan during the winter transfer window.
Moffi registered two goals and one assist across 15 appearances for the Portuguese club. His wider record in France remains considerably stronger, with 54 goals from 148 Ligue 1 outings for Lorient and Nice.
Once valued at €25m, Moffi’s estimated market value most recently declined to €8m in the May 2026 Transfermarkt update.
HSV have already strengthened their forward line with Patson Daka. The former Leicester City striker impressed during his debut against Heidenheim, scoring once, providing an assist and winning a penalty after coming off the bench.
Moffi would provide Polzin with another powerful central option, though his recent injury history means HSV must carefully assess both the financial and medical risks before proceeding.
