Atlético face Athletic after a bruising week featuring the Copa final and a defeat at Elche, their fourth straight league loss.
As reported by as.com, Sorloth and Hancko have trained at full intensity and should be available, although Simeone still has a doubt over the defender. The returns would also aid preparations for the Champions League tie with Arsenal.
The Norwegian came off the Copa final with a knock and worked separately for several days. He improved on Thursday, then rejoined the group fully on Friday. The Slovak suffered a sprain at Camp Nou in the Champions quarter-final first leg, which ruled him out of the return and the Cup final, and he is close to finishing his recovery.
Ruggeri should also make the squad without issues. Simeone is weighing up minutes and workload, with moderate, measured rotation. The game will give minutes to Oblak, who started in Elche, and Barrios, who came on in the second half.
Giménez and Lookman remain in the treatment room and will miss Athletic. For the Nigerian, his availability will depend on how he feels in training on Sunday and Monday, and there has been optimism since the injury that he could face Arsenal.
