Barcelona’s interest in Bernardo Silva has received a fresh boost after reports from Jordi Baste, as relayed by Gerard Romero, claimed that Hansi Flick has approved a potential move for the Portuguese international.
The 31-year-old is currently available after leaving Manchester City and is believed to be prioritising Barcelona despite receiving stronger financial proposals from elsewhere.
However, while the player is open to the move, a deal is still some distance away from becoming a reality.
For now, Silva remains patient and is prepared to wait for Barcelona to resolve several issues before the club can seriously advance negotiations.
According to the latest information, Flick has given his approval for Barcelona to pursue Silva if the right conditions are met.

The midfielder has long been admired by the club, but his arrival will depend largely on Barcelona’s ability to reduce the size of their current squad.
The Catalans are not in a position to add another senior player without first creating space through departures.
Silva is fully aware of the situation and despite receiving offers with better financial terms, he remains attracted by the possibility of playing for Barcelona and is willing to wait for the club to make its move.
In an ideal scenario, the Portuguese star would prefer to resolve his future before the World Cup, but he understands that Barcelona’s transfer plans are linked to outgoing business.
Until players leave, the club are unlikely to make a definitive offer.

Although Silva’s quality is unquestionable, Barcelona need to analyse the squad and see whether the addition of a new midfielder is really a necessity.
For now, the midfield department is already crowded, with seven players competing for three starting positions. Adding another midfielder without making room first could create an unnecessary imbalance.
In that context, the key factor could be Flick’s needs.
Since Silva’s versatility allows him to play in multiple roles, including as an attacking midfielder, winger or inside forward, that flexibility could make him a valuable option across several positions.
